Carlos Verona, a professional cyclist from Madrid representing the Lidl-Trek team and a resident of the Principality, has created the Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica. The race will cover 145 kilometres with 4,300 metres of elevation gain, starting in the centre of Andorra la Vella and featuring a summit finish at a mountain pass in the parish of La Massana.
The full route will be announced in early May, but it is confirmed to pass through all seven parishes. The event has a budget of 400,000 euros, 40% of which will be funded by the public treasury, with the remainder covered by private sponsorship.
